INGETEC | MOBILITY
Developing mobility plans for local authorities
Our team works on a full range of solutions to optimize the entire travel chain, across all types of territories, using a multimodal approach designed to promote alternatives to single‑occupancy vehicle use.
Promoting sustainable mobility while optimizing the travel chain
Our mission is to strengthen sustainable mobility for local authorities. In the context of tightening public budgets, our strategy focuses on optimizing infrastructure and services while ensuring the implementation of innovative, long‑lasting solutions and achieving better alignment between supporting networks and functional networks.
This mission takes shape through studies on cycling infrastructure, the development of new intermodal hubs, the enhancement of public transport services, the design of more efficient traffic and parking plans, the creation of comprehensive mobility plans, and, finally, traffic reduction strategies.
An engineering consultancy for mobility, rooted in local communities
Our work is highly technical, but the “communication, dialogue, and stakeholder consultation” component is equally essential. When we engage with a community to address a specific mobility challenge as part of a local mobility plan, we organize consultation workshops and public meetings to gather input from local stakeholders and residents about their living environment, helping to build broader acceptance of the projects.

Sustainable mobility: an opportunity at the scale of a territory
At Ingetec, we believe that sustainable mobility is not a restriction on our freedom to travel, but rather an opportunity to develop a full range of complementary solutions. Together with local authorities, we aim to create inclusive, sustainable mobility plans that will allow everyone to move more efficiently while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
In this holistic system, it is essential to offer alternatives to single‑occupancy vehicle use. While private car use is not excluded, it must complement a broader portfolio of mobility options to create smart mobility:
-
Public transport, adapted to each territory and demand: high‑capacity modes (tram, bus), on‑demand transport, autonomous shuttles…
-
Active modes: walking, cycling…
-
Alternative and electric mobility solutions: carpooling, car sharing, personal mobility devices.
A tailored mobility plan for every community
Our proposals are designed to suit both rural areas and dense urban centers. Streets, boulevards, major roadways, and secondary roads must evolve to better integrate active modes of transport (walking, cycling, etc.) and public transportation.
Connecting a range of sustainable mobility solutions — adapted to each trip, context, and user — optimizes the use of existing infrastructure, conserves resources (financial, land, and material), and ensures greater environmental respect while improving the flow of movement.
Public spaces must also adapt, and new exchange points are emerging. Our mobility engineering team supports you in defining and designing these new uses: mobility hubs and multimodal interchange points, dedicated public transport lanes, cycling master plans, carpooling areas and park‑and‑ride facilities, as well as tailored mobility services.
